Skin boosters have become an increasingly popular option for people who want to improve the overall appearance and quality of their skin without dramatically changing their facial features.

Rather than focusing on adding volume or altering facial contours, skin boosters are designed to support hydration, texture and skin quality.

How are skin boosters different from dermal fillers?

Although both treatments can involve injectable products containing hyaluronic acid, they are used for different purposes.

Traditional dermal fillers are generally used to restore or add volume, enhance facial contours or provide structural support.

Skin boosters are focused more on the condition of the skin itself. Depending on the treatment used, the aim may be to improve hydration, firmness, elasticity or the appearance of fine lines.

Where can skin boosters be used?

Skin boosters may be suitable for a number of areas where the skin is beginning to show signs of ageing or dehydration.

Common treatment areas can include the face, neck, décolletage and hands.

The most appropriate treatment will depend on your skin, the area being treated and the results you would like to achieve.

Will I look different afterwards?

For many clients, that isn’t the aim.

Skin-quality treatments are often chosen by people who want their skin to look fresher, healthier and more hydrated, rather than wanting an obvious aesthetic change.

Results can develop progressively, and a course of treatments may sometimes be recommended depending on the product and your individual treatment plan.

Which treatment is right for me?

There are now several different injectable treatments designed to improve skin quality, and they don’t all work in exactly the same way.

At Melanie Collins Aesthetics & Wellness, your consultation gives us the opportunity to assess your skin, understand your concerns and discuss the treatments that may be appropriate for you.
